A Unit to Cameroon!

650 Pygmies will be receiving a complete water unit!

John is in the process of sending over a unit as we speak. Laurence Jumbo Ekale, the president of Destinee Charity Foundation, has been describing the conditions in Cameroon with John:

650 Pygmies make up 4 small villages who all collect their water from one source - the community stream. The stream is naturally dirty and has never been treated.

Everyday of the year the main victims are children from age one to age six, however, especially now during the rainy season, adults and children alike will be suffering and dying from unclean water.

The main diseases in their community are dysentery, diarrhea, typhoid fever and cholera.

Pygmies of Cameroon

John is asking for prayer for the indigenous people of Cameroon. Also called Pygmies, these African natives are in need of water. Pray specifically for an open door as John writes and offers his help to supply them with their needs.

A Recent Email from Mary

We met with a water friend from Muscatine last night and he had three people from Liberia there. A unit is going with them to do a church that Pastor Rose has started and 5 others that are satellites. We are thankful for the opening for the gospel with clean water.

We received a donation from the AWWA, Region 4. John was scheduled to speak last week, but Jon Martens took his place and they really appreciate what is being done. Jon is also speaking for Iowa Municipalites groups on the west side of the state who are raising money for the cause too. We also received a dontation from Iowa Rural Water. I want everyone to know how proud I am of John that his piers stand beside him and support what he is doing. It shows his character and his integrity are very clear to those in his profession.

We are meeting this afternoon with a man we met at Rotary in Muscatine. He and his daughter are going to start a fund raising campaign to raise all the money we need for Africa next September.

Please pray for the patent, the 501c, health, and John to have enough vacation time to do all that we need to do. We are leaving it in God's hands and know he has a plan and are eagerly awaiting to see.

I cannot tell you how much each little thing that you do for us means. You are a precious part of the clean water being given in God's name all over the world.
